Yes, the atmosphere has been perfectly captured in this lovely painting

You've achieved a lovely balance of lights and darks.

Really strong composition

Wonderful. Love everything about it. Especially how elements stand out beautifully

I like how your painting seems so animated because of the way you have composed the rocks. Lovely work Jem.

Really good!

It's watery, coastal, breezy, lapping, everything Jem it's got it all.

Lovely rugged rocks, so powerful. The whole scene looks so alive and vibrant.

Thanks very much for your generous comments. By the way, if anyone has questions relating to the article/s at all please feel free to post here and I'll try to reply asap. Cheers, Jem

On the theme of my current article series in the magazine, this is another recent plein air painting of this (local to me) subject. Not the painting from the final article, but a different one again! The location offers a lot, and I may return here forever. I like it when painting seems to become more than 'about' the subject in the most obvious way. Whatever physical and visual things make up a composition, the real 'subject' is atmosphere, or the whole experience of being there.
