St Monan's windmill, low tide, en plein air
A plein air painting from last week (my usual 31 x 51cm) of the local windmill, about fifteen minutes from where I live. Some jeapardy in getting to this spot amidst seaweed covered rocks, but really wanted to get there for that reflection (and whole composition) which I could see from some distance off. Was a new moon, so big tide, and I thought I had plenty of time, but it came in so quickly I had to pick up easel and gear and move in several metres to finish off the painting; not ideal!
