Delicious washes Jeanette, love your style.

This is amazing. Love the colours.

Pen and watercolour again Jeanette, you are a master at these scenes painted in such glorious colours

Beautiful atmospheric work.

Wonderfully atmospheric

Many thanks again for your kind comments. In reply to your question, Lionel, the painting took less than half an hour to complete as the washes were only intended as a loose underpainting to brighten the earth colours that I'd intended to paint over them, but I then thought it would be too fussy if I added more, so left it as it was. I think I was pleased with it as it was painted really freely and quickly as I hadn't expected these washes to show through very much. If only I could free up and paint like this all the time I'd be delighted, but I suspect it's a one off! I don't teach now, but used to do demonstrations for art groups some years ago. Many thanks for your interest.

This is gorgeous and having written some of my blog diary about the Charles Reid course, I have studied this painting to relate it back to what Charles was trying to teach us. I can see just what you have got absolutely right and what has contributed towards it being such a successful painting. This is just super work.

Really like your work. I try watercolours but still like to draw the scene in ink and then a wash . I am try to be loose but find it dificult. I am using a stick dipped in the ink which I find loosens the drawing up . Well done on your art . Regards David

Absolutely adore this. How I wish I could achieve something like this. GREAT.
