Etching on watercolour paper - 12 x 10 cm. The plate for this print was made in two stages. First the cat and cushion were scratched freehand into a hard ground before etching. The plate was cleaned and then a soft ground was applied. A piece of lace cut to shape was placed on it and the plate passed through a press to emboss the lace pattern into the soft ground. The plate was then etched again and cleaned once more. For this print two colours of ink (black and sepia) were applied to different areas of the plate.
