Thanks Jane - there were in fact four cygnets last year but I included only three for the sake of the composition so I'm really glad you like it. Meanwhile correction to the description above - when I went for my daily walk today there were three new cygnets! That's made my day.

36 x 26 cm. Hand burnished woodcut print on Japanese paper. This family of black swans lives on the lake at the University of York just a few minutes walk from my house. I haven't seen any new cygnets yet this year but there is still time.
