Love the diagonal format, which adds interest and drama to this charming scene John.

Thank you Heather, Carole, Anne and Chris. The colour palette was limited mostly to Prussian Blue, Raw Umber and Indian Red. I made the mistake of adding Viridian for the tall conifer towards the left. I usually regret choosing it!

I think it’s excellent, viridian is such a strong colour and swamps a painting normally however it’s worked really well for you . I certainly wouldn’t regret using it in this case .

A scene in Easedale in the Lake District. Reference photo taken on a drizzly day, but painted indoors. This year’s resolution is to embrace en plein air painting, but perhaps not in drizzle. Watercolour on Bockingford 300gsm cold-pressed paper.
