Thank you Karen, Spencer, Anne and Heather. Encouraged by your comments I will do a larger version with oil pastels and watercolour, a mixed media combination favoured by Chris Forsey whose excellent book I have just bought.

Really well drawn lovely lights and darks will make a really good watercolour.

River Lyvennet in Cumbria’s Eden Valley. Started as a tonal sketch, but as usual I got obsessed with detail. Water-soluble graphite (Derwent Graphitone) and acrylic ink on A5 cartridge paper.
