Really like this. Beautiful trees and water that has a stillness in the background but also a great sense of movement in the foreground.

The greens of your foliage are so interestingly varied and the movement of the water is so animated James. Lovely painting.

Lovely pastel work Peter, the cascading water is particularly well painted. The only problem is that it is next to mine in the pastel gallery!

Many thanks for all your comments which I appreciate greatly as a newcomer to Painters Online. This painting of Cald Beck was started during one of Robert Dutton’s excellent courses. The central highlight was preserved with masking tape. The range of colours in the cascade was achieved with streaks of masking fluid layered before each watercolour wash.
