Thank you Heather and Frances. The reference for this was my photo — one of many, but this one captured the moment even though it was blurred due to slow shutter speed in the fading evening light. Nice experience to sharpen it up in the sketch!

Marabou stork, River Zambezi, Zambia. The wingspan of this massive wading bird can exceed three metres. Despite their size and rather ungainly appearance, they latch onto tree branches with surprising elegance. Drawn with Staedtler Mars Lumograph black pencils and white charcoal on Strathmore tan paper.
