One of my favourite flowers to paint. I will never tire of painting irises. Some have transparent petals like stained glass windows and others have rich velvety petals, like this one. I generally paint wet into wet and am known for my vibrant use of paint. I just keep practicing those backgrounds, but I'm still aiming for a looser approach.
