WS Oil on Canvas 18" x 14". My first portrait of a friend of the family practising for a concert in her half-renovated kitchen. I wanted to capture the half-finished background, the drying washing and the cluttered shelf above the aga, although I may have gone into too much background detail, it tells a more personal story. Also I have tried to tie her violin bow in to the perspective in order to drag the viewer deeper into the painting.
