Oil on board, 10" x 12". Holiday season again, and we came home equipped with dozens of sketches and photos of the children on the beach. This one is an early morning shot of my daughter running from the waves at Challaborough Cove. I took some advice with this one - a couple of years ago, on this site, someone suggested I used a crimson ground, and I have to admit it's worked a treat. As an underpainting I used the atelier acrylics which, I think are great for the task, and I was halfway thinking to complete the picture in acrylics. However the flexibility and manoeverability of oils won the day.
