This is great Ian, the colours and tones are spot on. Like you I would hesitate to add anything further in case of messing up. It would be worth sketching something onto tracing paper and placing over the painting to see if it would work or not.

Thanks for your comments Robert, still haven't done anything with it yet though - it's going to be one of those "is it or isn't it finished pictures... One of those the wife hates because it can't be framed, and its just lingering around waiting for something to do...!" Cheers. Ian.

don't mess with it - it's great as it is!

This is lovely. I think it is finished as it is - as someone who was snowed in in our village for a few days earlier this month, I feel the silent isolation that snowdrifts bring in this painting. Love it!

Guess what - a snow scene (how unusual!). Acrylic & WS Oil on canvas board 14" x 10". Painted following a day walking through snowdrifts. The scene is Pen-y-Ghent from just above Horton. I have finally got the hill right - after many attempts in various conditions and lights, and for once I am happy with it. I don't know if the scene could do with a bit of life - maybe I will add it at a later stage.
