Another beautiful painting, Lovely composition

really like this pochade painting, well done

This is a very beautiful painting, well done.

Great scene and great intro to it Ian, super painting of the Barn and the suitably vacant looking sheep! The barn actually looks like we could just walk up to it and touch it, great that the farmer on seeing you painting it came over rather self conscious about the roof and wanted you to paint it repaired even though it will have been like that for years no doubt!

WS Oil on Board 8"x6". Another fantastic summer's day, another chance to get out and record another part of Horton. This is Salabers Barn (known locally as Jackie Barn), just off the Pennine Way track above the Crown Hotel. The sheep in the foreground posed just long enough for me to make a mental sketch of him before he was rounded up for shearing. Only one visitor this morning and that was the farmer, Steve who reckoned it'd look better with the roof fixed, although I was tempted, I wanted an accurate representation of the building. I may come back to this and make some changes, I took around 1 1/2 hours to complete this sketch.
