I really like this. The mood is just right. I see what you mean about the foreground, but it's a great painting

Thanks Carole, I'm still getting to grips with the gesso primer, and the use of 2 different types of acrylic paint. I have found out that the W&N titanium white has an eggshell finish, and the DR sytem 3's don't! Still it does leave an interesting finish...

This is lovely Ian, Love the slight hint of sun over the hill. Strange thing when we visited Monet's garden, I thought to myself; 'that's a strange green it's almost pthalo, it probably is!! Well spotted you obviously know your colours?

I agree that you don't need anything in the forground. The emptiness of the landscape enhances the flooded field.

Acrylic on board, 24" x 10". Painted in January during the dales' "wet season", obviously using photographic reference! I know there could be something of interest in the foreground, maybe I will add a sheep or two later...
