This is lovely. I like how you have managed to control the washes in the sky to get such a misty quality.

Really like this painting Spencer a really lovely composition. The tree is superb too.

Aww love this Spencer 😀

I like looking up at the building, also I love that tree Spencer.

Thank you so much Sarah. I sometimes use syringes to control the amount of water in certain parts but you still get occasional bleeds such as on the aerial and branches. Thanks Chris, Faye and Carole for your lovely comments. Much appreciated.

Think Wow is the word for this painting. Great angle for the Lighthouse and the tree is so good.

Great composition and like the mixed media use

Love the composition, the luminous washes and the composition. Beautifully painted, Spencer.

Typo! I meant the composition, the luminous washes and the linework.

Really like your portraits, especially the Beatles subjects. Being a lover of buildings and architecture the Alnes lighthouse is the star of your gallery for me.

Thank you so much Robert. I’m glad you like my lighthouse painting. I tend to paint in themes and, as you’ve noticed I’ve now started on my Beatles series. I hope you will like some of those.

Alnes lighthouse is on the island of Godoy in Norway. It’s taken from a photograph I took when we visited there a few years ago. It’s painted wet on wet and wet on dry with additions of pen and ink.
