I'm a fan of flower paintings. They are challenging. Not only are these tulips alive, but an exciting job was done with everything around the flowers. Free brush strokes, moving, atmospheric background. Cloth never boring. Beautiful.

The challenge of painting white flowers against a light background is always a good one. I loved the shape of this arrangement as much as the delicate white petals of the sweeping tulips and frilly carnations.
