Summer fields

Nice sunny fields. I like the way you have done the path.

nice painting, particularly like the dark shadows.

Those darks were so important in this piece Helen, they really give some good depth to it.

If representational is your way - that's the way you'll go; at least at present .... people rarely make a sudden change in technique, it's more usually gradual. So, if you are worrying about it - don't worry about it. Just keep painting, and changes will happen. And anyway I like this one - as Alan says, it's the darks that make it work.

Thanks for your very helpful comments. Yes I do worry about it as its not how I want to paint but as you say, Robert, I have got to keep going. And I did get braver this time with the darks so it's nice to know they worked!
