The Last sun of autumn

Anvil Point 2

This is so good Alan, I like the size of the canvas and you've worked the composition beautifully

Gorgeous painting, Alan. The light, colour and tranquillity come together to make an excellent whole. Bri

Alan this I’d particularly good, so nice to see landscape size paintings.

Thank you Heather, Brian and Paul for your positive comments, they are always very much appreciated. The subject is a diminutive little light house at anvil point (about 35 min walk from my home). Sadly it is now decommissioned and, with its associated buildings, provides expensive holiday accommodation!

Love the subtlety of your palette and this very charming, appealing painting Alan.

Thank you Carole. Interestingly 90% of the painting was done with just 3 colours, permanent alizarin, cobalt blue and cadmium yellow plus white.

Love this painting, Alan. Been staying in a house on the cliff at Carbis Bay this week, and it is a bit like your painting.

Thank you Shirley. I know Carbis Bay well. I often stay in nearby St. Ives.
