I think most of us have to adjust the image in photoshop or some similar program to get a reasonable likeness to the original painting and as it probably appears slightly differently on different screens I wouldn't worry too much about it. As you can tell I'm not very technically minded when it comes to computers LOL This is a lovely understated study of a garden shed, clean washes, good tonal values and not overworked. I really like it and look forward to some more of your work.

I agree with Val about your painting Heather, it's a very pleasing study. Do you have a scanner? Anything A4 size I usually scan, you get a really good quality image to download to the gallery.

Thanks Fiona and Val, that's really helpful. I don't have a scanner at the moment but I might keep that in mind. Glad you liked the painting too.

Very pleasing little study Heather, it's good fun to paint in the garden.

I painted this watercolour last year based on a black and white picture of the shed in my garden. Really this is an experiment in uploading a jpeg of my work; I've never done it before. I took a digital photo of the painting but the photo came out darker than the painting so I had to brighten it in photoshop - it's now a fair image of the original painting. Is there a better way of doing this? I would welcome any comments/advice on either the painting or taking and uploading digital images of artwork. Thanks!
