I agree with you Heather - I think this version is much livelier and the pen work really adds another dimension to the watercolour. A very attractive image.

I think it's a strong work, with powerful tonal contrasts and some lovely gradations of colour.

Had another go at the pumphouse door, this time with more penwork and different colours. I think I prefer it, even though it's less loose. What do you think?
