Fab Hazel, really well observed and painted

Interesting, well observed and effective painting.

This is the first time in twenty years I haven't underpainted my canvas first, instead working directly onto white primer. It came together surprisingly quickly! Thanks for your very encouraging comments :D

This view is to be found on the Erewash canal leading to Langley Mill in Derbyshire. Just an ordinary concrete railway bridge, the reflections and shadows along with the angle of the curve were just too interesting for an artist to resit. Sometimes it's the very ordinary overlooked spots that make for striking art. Painting note - for the first time in 21 years, I did not underpaint my canvas but left it white - this is also a remnant off-cut, with a big hole just off the camera!
