wow, Hazel this is amazing :-) your attention to detail is astounding, it is perfect :-)

I can't believe this is your first CP work, it's excellent.

This is excellent work and the drawing is well done, there is a lot of detail and the clothes are carefully detailed. If you are going to do WW1 and WW2 pictures in the main it may look better in a sepia mono colour. Wher you do want to use colour I find Derwent Artists Pencils are ideal for blending and Derwent Studio Pencils are good for detail work as they have a harder pigment. Obviously this is only my preference. But most of all the most important tool in your box should be a putty eraser this helps to lift colour when you need to........ Anyway mus'nt take up too much of your page. your first work is great and we all look forward to seeing further work..

Thank you Rebecca, Val and Keith! It is Val, honestly!! Thanks very much for your info Keith, I have some Derwent studio also but not tried them yet.

This is my first foray into coloured pencils. It is done in one pencil, Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencil, Burnt Ochre. It is drawn on Bristol board paper. I got a book from a charity shop and saw a picture I liked. I have changed it so it is not exactly the same. I am going to do some more on the theme of 1st and 2nd World War. Lots of interesting pictures in this book, I especially like the clothes of both era's. I have played about with the colour (first time) as it was quite washed out with my photograph. I believe I have it the same now, more or less, as my picture. Any C & C's most welcome!
