Some trees do lean! A lovely watercolour, your client must be delighted.

Stirling Bridge was one of the first paintings I ever did, unfortunately nowhere near this standard and certainly not fit for posting on here.LOL This is lovely.

Super landscape Graham. It's interesting to hear the little grumbles we all make, which viewers think are not a problem, I suppose those are the things which help us improve our work - there will never be a perfect picture!

A lovely painting, super wet water and the composition works very well.

I would not have really noticed had you not pointed it out, and the tree may well have been a leaning one as Rosalind said 'some do lean'. I really like this painting. I particularly like the sweeping sky .

This is again great, Graham. I agree with Denise, I don't think I would have noticed the leaning tree. I am sure your client is very happy with this super painting! Your colour scheme is perfect as always, love it!

Another one of your accomplished watercolours, Graham. I too, wouldn't have noticed anything amiss with the leaning tree, and I like the bough in the top left hand corner just breaking up the big sky - lovely. And many thanks for your advice on my recent posting; practise I certainly will!

A beautiful old bridge and a sort of timeless quality to this painting, Graham, and like everyone else hadn't noticed the Terrible Tree of Torment.

Being self critical is a thing all artists seem to take too far. Not a bad thing i suppose. But as everyone has said, unless you yourself highlight a perseved problem, noone else would notice. this is a truely lovely painting, and a wonderful sky too.

Graham, you are too hard on yourself. I like tree's that lean, I think they look more natural. It's a super painting.

Well thank you Rosalind,Val,Stephen,Lesley,Denise,Mia,Jane,Caroline,Tony, and Fiona for all your kind comments about this painting and observations about my "LEANING " tree. It is interesting that many of you think that we are all our own worst critics on our own work, but I suppose that is just human nature, anyway many thanks again to you all for taking the time to view and comment, it is always appreciated.

Beautiful painting Graham

Thank you Petra for your kind comments on this piece, I always appreciate someone taking the time to view and make comments on my paintings.

It's superb, Graham. I'm sure your client was pleased. The slant of the tree is hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from what is very obviously a solid piece of good art.

Thank you Seok for your comment, always appreciated and the client was pleased and never mentioned my "LEANING" tree so perhaps it is just me being a bit critical and fussy of my own work.!!!

Hi Graham, thank you for your comment on my last posting. Re; the shadows, could I possibly ask your advise on whether I shoud do cool or warm shadows. I know it's suppose to be a cold feeling picture but because they would be in the foreground would it be better to make them warm? Hope you don't mind me asking. Fiona

Thank you very much for your advise Graham, I took the plunge and did a mix of ultra marine and light red two colours that I have used else where in the painting to do the shadow mix. I'm not keen on the result but have learnt a lesson. To make sure I see these things before I consider the painting finished. Thanks again Graham.

this is a scene that is well painted in my area by many artists and this particular painting was commissioned with the clent wanting the old bridge and wallace monument shown in the distance. They seemed pleased with the outcome, but I was annoyed with myself with the tree on the right of the picture slightly leaning over, a lesson in standing back during your work to observe and not be to close to it to miss something like this,
