Beautiful landscape, composition and colour scheme! I love it!! Can I ask what size your paintings are?

thank for the kind comments, this painting is 18" X 14" plus 3" margin all round the mounts with 4" at the bottom. I have normally about 5 sizes that I work from which over and above this one are 18"X10 ; 15" x !! " ;16" X 8" with the largest 19" X 14", I use Bockinford NOT 200 lb. watercolour paper normally for all my watercolours.

I love the sky & water in this one Graham, may I ask which shade of blue you use? Thank you for your comment on my latest posting.

This is such an elegant piece. The composition and colors are super.

Thanks for taking the time to comment on this watercolour, and your query Fiona regarding which shade of blue I use for my sky etc. is a mix of Cobalt Blue with Cobalt Violet ( SLIGHTLY LESS OF THIS) and a smal touch of French Ultramarine --- All from the Winsor & Newton Artist Quality Watercolour Range and painted on Bockinford NOT 200 lb. watercolour paper.

Thanks for the information Graham......I might be able to mix the colour but I couldn't apply it as masterly as yourself.

I love this picture, and all your other pictures. So free and loose and such beautiful landscapes to work from. You lucky thing.

Hope the information re colours helped Fiona, it is just a matter of trial and error to get the correct mix for the colour you desire, and once you find one you like it becomes almost automatic when preparing the mix and thank you as well Shirley for viewing my paintings and for your kind comments

Paimted this scene many times and never get tired of it, and thought the small boat and fisherman returning had to be included as it just seem to say fishing is finished for to-day but promised much for to-morrow.
