I love the way Glyn has conveyed the shadows. He has succeeded in making the viaduct look 3 dimensional. This picture really leads the viewer into it.

Thank you Jacky for your kind comment. I did wait until the end to put the shadows in despite feeling impatient to do them all the way through. I rode on the Settle to Carlisle train last Autumn whilst on an art week in the Dales and remembered photos I'd taken years before of the viaduct from the ground. Goodness know where the thought comes from to paint a particular scene after some years but I'm guessing we all get that sudden impulse from time to time.
