Thank you for all of your comments. I started this drawing with the ribbon which I was happy with, I was going to put a tulip with it, but I had scaled the ribbon too big so it had to be a bigger flower. I have done some more work on the tones in the rose now because I didn't feel it was dark enough. In hindsight I think it would have been easier to start with the flower and then the ribbon but I do like to do things the hard way or perhaps it was a senior moment!
