I think your Tiger is absolutely beautiful, you are very good and your gallery was a joy to see..

So beautifully done Glennis I'm amazed at your versatility.

The depth and vitality of this picture is awesome (in the proper sense of the word, not the current speak). Your talent is seemingly neverending. Lovely!

Wonderful painting. Great angle, looks like he is coming to get you! Enjoyed your gallery too.

This is lovely Glennis. You cant help locking eyes with this beautiful beast

Wow Glennis!! He's gorgeous, especially the eyes.

Thank you all so much for your very kind comments.

Lovely strong portrait - really well done coat and the eyes are wonderful.

Excellent work Glennis, those eyes are superb. Did you use soft, hard or pastel pencils if you don't mind me asking? I didn't enjoy my one and only attempt on velour. I didn't like the feel of it but I liked the effect I got with soft pastels, but then the problems started. Even spraying with fixative didn't hold the pastel on the velour and after it was framed (that was a nightmare in itself and nigh well immpossible to get it into the frame without pastel dust all over the glass) every time it was moved in any way it dislodged more pastel. I gave up on it in the end and it's now confined to the bottom of my pastel draw never to be seen again LOL

Rebecca, Thea and Val - thank you for your comments. Val I used a mixture of soft and pastel pencil , build up the layers in the eye .(I am not a lover of velour either and have it framed by the experts, which is costly) I agree the effect is great but it's the framing the problem. I have started to use paselmat card which I like and is a lot easier to frame and not so much pastel dust. Still have a few pieces of velour left to use up but won't be purchasing anymore.

Stunning, Glennis! You've captured the predatory look to perfection.

Kirstie and Seok many thanks

Thanks for your reply Glennis. I actually thought I'd given away all my velour but I found some at the bottom of my draw this afternoon. I'm not sure but I seem to remember that someone said you could use coloured pencils on it. I might give that a try but not very hopeful of how successful it would be.

This is really lovely Glennis, well done !!

Stunning work!!! I see you share my love of wildlife and nature.

Hello Glennis. I have not been around much over the past year and am now trying to catch up with all things art, etc. This is a gorgeous tiger. You never cease to amaze me with the variety and beauty of your work.
