Rowing Boats Versailles by Gilly Beech
Oil Pastel. Everywhere you look at Versailles Palace and its grounds is an oil painting. Its absolutely stunning. The rowing boats on the symmetrical lake are gently moving composition, and when tied together in the evening as the sun starts to descend, they are postitioned beautifully to capture the eye of an appreciative audience. This oil pastel drawing was initially intended as a study for an oil painting but its texture and size resulted in a finished piece.
