This is so bold and colourful Frank. Love the strong features and colours. Not easy doing portraits in oil pastel but this is beautifully painted.

How you've applied the oil pastel is whatI like, Frank. Love the light and shade falling on the face and the rough strokes of the pastel. The jumper, too, with the light and dark just makes it all so vibrant and interesting. Two portraits posted here today are firing me up!

Thank you all for such lovely comments. I intended to keep this down to simple, colourful shapes, but old habits die hard, as I started to slip back into detail! Even with a palette of 30 coloured pastels in my box, there is never quite the right colour you need, but that tends to make things interesting.
