Like this one Jane, very atmospheric sky with the colours of the sky well reflected in the sea, well painted and a good composition, like the way the water comes right down to the corner of the foreground rather than as sometimes happen with a forground taken all accross the painting and so leads your eye into the painting.

Agree with Graham - it is incredible how a little thing like the broken foreground can change a picture, rather than the 1-2-3-level so often used. Well done. I will remember ;-)

Thank you for your comment, Graham. To be perfectly honest, the points you mentioned happened by accident rather than design... and possibly you guessed that! However, they are very helpful and good learning points for me - I will remember then in future paintings. Thanks again for your wisdom; it's much appreciated. And Jorgen, thanks for taking a look.

Jane this is really a very nice piece! I also like the rest of your gallery, I wont repeat what others have said however it is clear you have a good eye for composition/light and tone values. I should also say that you manage to inject a great amount of mood and atomosphere (which is present in all your works) Really like them! Best regards Chris

Chris, that's very kind of you... I'm glad the paintings 'spoke' to you in some way, and now back to the easel to keep practising!

Jane I have just come across this painting and can only reiterate everthing said by the others - a really impressive work.

Many thanks Jorgen and Michael for taking the time to comment - I really appreciate it.

I really like the surf here. You've captured it so well that one can almost hear the roar and feel the spray!

Keep coming back to this 'stormy' sky - you really captured something there - - and it is so interesting to see how both nature and artists express the difference in the same "unpaintable, invisible topic": wind!

Thank you Seok Yam, and Jorgen yes, it is so interesting to see how the wonders of nature are expressed by artists, each in our own way.

Lovely work Jane. Very evocative. I particularly like your skilful rendering of cloud forms

This is beautiful work, it takes me back to a time when I lived in Co Galway. You have caught the skies perfectly.

Oil on canvas 8" x 8" A bit of an experiment with skies and colour in what is a fairly new medium for me.
