Elizabeth, I haven't painted outdoors much. I tend to sketch, absorb the atmospehre and take lots of photos. I'm afraid I'm a fair weather girl - don't much like getting wet and cold and so far this year we haven't had too many warm dry days here. Thanks for your comment!

Another lovely piece, Jane. I'm glad I discovered this portfolio. It contains so many gems I would not have believed you are new to oils! You've really excelled in capturing the light and atmosphere in all your paintings and this one is an excellent testimony to your skills.

Thanks Trevor. I really enjoy looking at the sky and noticing the differences in cloud formation and light - and how quickly they can change! And then attempting to paint something that's not a replica but can create an atmosphere and stir an emotion....maybe...

Jane - I love this sky also the whole atmosphere - thank you for your comment on my recent painting - I never know whether to reply to each individual artist or reply on my own page - it seems most people reply on their own page ? - but when you get a reply it makes you look at work you have missed as in this case.
