I couldn’t paint a portrait to save my life but, this is so improved from your first one, Carole.

Ooh thank you Seth, you made my day!

That is much better. You have a lovely style of drawing so keep at it!

You've slimmed down that nose quite a bit, and I can see a big improvement on your first posting, 😀

She looks wonderful Carole, I haven't seen your earlier version yet so can't comment on the improvement. You have painted a brilliant portrait, something I've never tried so well done!!

Teeth can be an issue with portraits Carole. I would darken them a touch or smudge them almost out. Nice work though and well done for tackling a tricky subject.

Just spotted these, Carole. It is an improvement on the first one. If you don't do many faces, it's not a bad idea to make some up so that you're not slave to a photo. If you're not sure where things go, have a look at your own face in a mirror. I do that all the time. (For example...to check where the corners of the mouth end - smile in mirror-you'll find the corners of the mouth are in line with the middle of the eye, they'll also be in line with the bottom of the ear...two points of reference...quicker to do than explain.) This is good, Carole, and you're an excellent artist anyway...so you'll get even better at faces..

Thanks all for you kind encouragement really appreciate it. Thanks Lewis I did make this one up, who could look like this? :)). I will practice looking in a mirror, but not sure portraits are my thing.

Well done Carole. Much better, very good indeed.

Alitalia is right, you do have a lovely style of drawing, Carole.

Thanks Jim x. Thanks very much Dawn.

Very good attempt Carole. Self portraits are the hardest thing in the world to draw. We don't see ourselves as others see us. Stay with it gal!

Have never really tried portraits, but this looks good to me.

Big improvement, Carole, and that's in only a couple of hours. Think what more practice will bring. My first tree was mediocre, my third better and my tenth passable. I'm still working on them. *smile* Brian

A great difference Carole.

Great improvement, Carole.

A brave thing to do Carole, I wouldn’t know how to start. You have a lovely style of drawing a portrait, you should persevere! Eyes are gorgeous.

Thank you Cesare and Fiona, really appreciate your comments.

Saw the first one, Carole, this is greatly improved, it has a prettier look to it and I like the soft colours.

Wish I could upgrade my face :) Very different for you, you've caught your eyes beautifully Carole.

Thanks Jenny. Thanks Val me too 😂

That’s a very good portrait Carole

I tweaked it as Jim suggested, changed the chin and slimmed the face as Robert said. Also narrowed the nose but not easy on something so wrong. Thanks all for your kind tips and suggestions.
