Terrific

Nicely done Rod.

A very appetising clementine Rod.

This is a wonderful, fetching painting. Somewhere in one of your painting commentaries, you said comments welcome. Hope you take this as a possible suggestion and as a positive comment. In this painting you have a clear light source which is beautifully rendered. The background color is greyed down and melts into table. Nice. Here's a suggestion: Since "atmosphere" affects the edges of objects, softening a sphere, say, as it goes round, I would suggest, even if just for an experiment for you, to blend your edges into the background value by gently lightening and greying the edge value of the object being painted. Or take your brush or finger and blend background with edge of object. That procedure takes away the cutout effect. I wouldn't touch this painting, though! Maybe Google Eric Rhodes and "Edges."

Oh dear, I said strawberry in my commentary when it's a clementine. Sorry. Though it doesn't matter what it is. It's beautifully painted.
