Beautiful painting, Fiona - so bright and sunny... I agree that it would be hard to paint this without the details in the buildings. Great perspective and sense of distance, with the lighter washes as the buildings and fields recede into the distance.

I found it difficult to decide which section of this row of old houses to paint, but finally decided on this one. I know its not exactly loose but the detail seemed important.

Fiona Rossington

After a career teaching Science, I am now retired and have time to enjoy a local Art class. I find pastel suits my style but I also enjoy trying to use water colours to good effect. I love painting flowers but also enjoy buildings, which so far I have painted from photos I have taken.
