Garlieston Harbour (33)

A rough blustery day in your painting, Fiona. The challenge you've set yourself is a tough one. About 10 weeks for 33 paintings...tough...but I'm sure you'll do it.

Lovely positive colours Fiona, even then!

Lots of exciting imagery in this one, Fiona. It's like modern impressionism with a touch of expressionism bolstering the style. The combination works well, drawing the eye effortlessly. Bri

Great achievement Fiona

Good luck with your challenge Fiona! xx You can do it I know xx

I rather like the blustery feel to this one Fiona. It has that good sense of movement in the water and stormy looking sky. The colours are good as well. Interesting to look at old work isn't it? I often ask myself, 'did I paint that?'. Also, there's that question, 'where's that one?'. Not too sure where some of my older paintings are now. I do know that one of mine got lost in the post years ago and I've never ever forgotten that one!

Love this Fiona, so atmospheric! It is interesting to look back at old work as Louise said. I have tried lots of different media but I think an illustrative style has prevailed!

I don’t know if I will make it, it means painting and posting one at least every two days.....so my better half says. I don’t want to get chucked off the site for over posting! Lol This, I must explain is a new one, I had already done it so thought it’s one down 32 to go. It was an awful grey day at the harbour...usual Galloway weather this time of year.....and I thought I had captured some of that depression of grey. It isn’t very good I have to say, I really don’t get on with acrylics but thought I would give them another try.....used sparingly. I will re-do some of the first paintings that I posted, I’ll start tomorrow! Thank you all very much for your positive thoughts and encouragement.

Oh wow, that is a challenge but I'm sure you are up to it. I like this scene very much. Good luck with your challenge, you can do it.

Is this a new kind of Impressionism Fiona? There seems to be no stoping you like a kind of conveyor belt of wonderful and new kind of styles, where on earth do you come up with such diversity, Super work as always!😉

Let it flow Fiona, bags of energy just what you need for your challenge, nice one

Wow, Fiona this painting is full of energy- it's excellent! It really conveys the blustery restless weather. Sounds like you are going to be quite busy!

Good luck with your challenge Fiona. Great movement and the colours are lovely.

Denise I hope so! Thank you. This new style is called Fionaism William...lol. My head is a bottomless pit, mostly rubbish. Thank you for your very kind comment. Thank you Malcolm, I’m sipping coffee and wondering what to do for 32. Thanks Anne! Yes, I’m wondering whether I should have kept quiet, but if you all know, I can’t chicken out...lol. Gillian, thank you for your support.

Really like the loose technique.

It’s fabulous to see how your work develops, isn’t it? This is very atmospheric.

Jill, Jacqueline.....thank you very much ladies.

Great energy in this work Fiona. I like it!!

An absolute stunner Fiona. Will enjoy all the lovely paintings to come, in your challenge. I'm OK thanks, just been off the site for a while. Hope to restart painting in time to get a Christmas one up.

Dennis, Shaun, Sandra......thank you ever so much for your lovely comments.

16”x12” mixed media....acrylic and crayon...on heavy cartridge paper. I was looking to see when I made my first posting on POL and it was 3/2/2011, and also how many paintings I had posted in that time, which is 967. A challenge for myself, to post 33 paintings to make a thousand by 3/2/2021 which will be ten years. I will re-paint some of the earlier paintings, hope there’s an improvement. This is the first.
