Despite what you say, I think it's very good Federico

Superb painting.

Well - I like it, and I think it works well. I hope you mean't cigar, rather than cigarette, in your introduction: cigarettes are horrible things; a good cigar, as Mr Kipling said, is a smoke.

"mean't"? Meant: I meant; not "mean't" - I think that smoke got in my eyes. And PS - I still like your painting, smoke or no smoke.

Thank you Heather and Stephen! Robert, that’s so funny. It’s just unglamorous rolling ciggies. Bad habit but it keeps me outdoors

I like the sunlight ho wring over the foreground grasses Federico.

Nicely done!

Shiskin's Oak Grove is lovely (I looked it up). Your painting dances and sings with vitality his doesn't have. I can feel the massive strength of that oak with the delicate air and light coming through the leaves. The long grass underneath is alive and beautifully rendered.

Lynne is right. The oak exudes strength and is nicely lit by the foreground grasses

Well I would be happy with this lovely piece, great tree , difficult subject when in full leaf but you did it proud .

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments, you are so nice! I may work more on it when I am back from holidays

Oil on 40x60cm canvas. Sometimes, when I take a break I go to this quiet place, in the shade, having a ci... some fresh air, looking at this magnificent oak tree. I've been dreaming of painting it, as the most beautiful tree, making sketches, rearranging elements, and combining plein air with studio, dreaming of emulating Shiskin's Oak Grove. The result: not very good composition (despite the sketches the oak grew in the canvas) and I am not too happy with the result... , it's ok, some day...
