There’s a flock of about 50 linnets this winter in a small patch of rough ground next to the Tees near the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough; they feed on the ground, picking up the fallen seeds from the wild mustard plants, so they’re quite tricky to see except when they briefly perch on the barbed wire. Watercolour with Chinese brushes, 10x10".
