what a georgeous portrait, a very pretty girl. Although I can paint animal portraits I am useless at human portraits to make them look like the person, I envy you.

This is my best friend's daughter. She hates to have her photograph taken so I really wanted to paint her as a gift for her mother! I especially wanted to capture this smile and worked from a few photographs which I took secretly with the ipad while she was having lemonade with my daughter last summer. The paper looks rougher than it is as I took the photograph with more sidelighting than I would usually. I'll remember not to do that in future!
