Very deep & meaningful & pretty colours too !!

That's art for you Bob, 10 minutes now that fast art.

Reminiscent of 60's fashion. That's what I see Bob no rage etc :)

Mondrian took months to paint these.. and I understand that the colours, position, and size of each shape are "balanced' so that ones eye is not drawn to any area of the painting. He would change the size of each square and its position until ones eye is at peace..... when you know this one can look at those pictures with not only new interest but also huge respect because he can do it!!! I do not know if you tried it?? but well done Bob.

Thanks very much for your comment, Guy. Yes, I did try to achieve "balance",and although I did not understand Piet Mondrian's motives or inspiration, I do enjoy his work from a purely aesthetic point of view. I did not wish to disrespect him as an artist, only to take the Mickey out of "art speak", and to have a bit of fun for a few minutes. And to be honest, I did enjoy painting it !! I also share Piet's dislike of greens, but not to the extent of painting a live plants stalk and leaves white, which I understand that he did once!! :-) Many thanks also, Carole, John and Donna for your comments. Much appreciated!!

Lol... Bob you had me fooled there for a minute, I thought you were taking your art seriously but yes you're right, it is pretty!

Unless you accidentally got the decimal in the wrong place this is not much bigger than a postage stamp—maybe you only had a little bit of acrylic left over :) Is it just Mondrian's geometric paintings that interest you Bob? My favourites of his are the tree paintings and drawings, which he also did many of, and of the same tree. I think he was probably something of an obsessive type.

Thanks very much, Fiona I do take my art seriously in general, but its good to poke it a bit of fun now and then !! :-) Thanks for your comment, John. The dimensions are correct. Its about the size of a business card, hence, the poor reproduction. I have seen a tree painted by Mondrian. was it called The Grey Tree? To be honest, I haven't made a study of his work but I did see a documentary on him a few months ago and, yes, he was definitely an odd bod !! But then, aren't we all ??

The juxtaposition of blocks of colour are indicative of life balance. the various colours point to melancholy, rage/passion and joyfulness, and how they interact with the paths we choose through a given period.......... Utter b@()@(£s !!! Acrylic on 2.5cm X 3.5cm paper. 10minutes to paint. Looks pretty though !! :-))
