Better than counting sheep !! Like the dark "smokey" effect Bob!

Lovely Bob. Nicely set against the dark background.

Crikey! Early birds!! Thank you very much, Donna and Henry!! I am paying for the late night now !!

A smashing job Bob, No details just marks, shapes, colours make it work.

Nice one Bob, you've caught the atmosphere very well. Bet your shattered now!

Can almost hear the music...great.

Great atmosphere Bob, you are making great progress in such a short time.

i cant thank you all enough for your amazing comments! Derek, I do find it hard not to attempt details, but I'll continue to observe the master sketcher !!:-)) Yes Fiona , pretty much done in now😊 Looking forward to bedtime. !! Peter , the music was amazing! A bit of miles Davis, Stan Getz , quite a few originals! Makes a change for me to be part of the audience!! Thanks Stephen. I will have been painting for a year in September. I'm saving a massive canvas to celebrate!! I can honestly say that the encouragement I've received from you PoL folk has played a large part in my continuing to paint. Thanks guys and girls once again!

Looks like a good time was had by all Bob. I love the reflections from the instruments.

Thanks very much Adele, it was as joyous as a jazz crowd gets !!

Bob I used to be a stickler for details and correct colours, but I don't now and it's a lovely way to go doing your own thing.

You have caught the atmosphere of a jazz club perfectly, good composition too, well done.

Thanks very much, Fred, for your kind comments. Derek, I think my painting will evolve as it goes along. I enjoyed the freedom of this one, and I think the lack of detail is probably due to not working from a visual reference. If I paint something in front of me, I will almost always try to get as much detail in as I can manage.
