Brilliant trees Amanda, especially the roots.

I find this combination difficult, and wonder if you did too - tend to overdo the pencil, and sully the watercolour.... Easier I think to combine ink and watercolour. This is very convincing, and a strong painting.

Thank you all so much for such positive comments! Robert I find if I use alot of water, a big brush and a very gentle touch on top of the pencil I don't have a problem and go as dark as I like in graphite. I'm still learning though so I'm sure there will be failures along with the successes. As yet I don't have the confidence to use pen.

Thank you Charles, your comment is very much appreciated. Finding a style of ones own has been extremely frustrating. I like to put the detail in and yet like an impressionistic look at the same time, I think this combination acheives this quite well. I am still learning though so who knows what will develop! :)
