What is the purpose of the red blob? Everything else looks really good

Alan, it's a representational, abstract piece with elements suggesting the title, "ancient". There is nothing more ancient in our universe than the sun.

Love it Stevan! The colours, the marks and not to forget the dendritic elements. I get the use of the sun along side the standing stone, if as suggested, the stones were some kind of calendar. Look forward to seeing more!

Glad you like it Fionna, as I said it's a new approach for me but I'm enjoying the process.

Something different for me but I've been playing with monoprinting and mixed media. This piece has monoprinting, painting, charcoal and pen and ink. The standing stone is inspired by stones of the ring of brodger on Orkney which I visited a couple of years ago. The method of printing I used gave me the dendritic look that I like and I used acrylic paint..
