They look like sentinels Stevan, or guardians of the underworld in the context of the foreground. The limited palette gives an impression of a held breath!

I have long been intrigued by the stone field boundaries at the Wycollar park. I've read somewhere that they are the oldest field dividers in the country? This is just a small section, there are much longer runs, and they are an ideal mechanism to bring a semblance of reality to my abstract foreground. As I often do I have laid a random base of gesso before painting and I have added granulation medium to ink which brings a different texture.
