This is wonderful. I am not familiar with the work of the artist this is a tribute to - but if it is anything like this, it must be marvellous. Not to take anything away from you either - this is a superb painting of great composition and texture.

This is very appealing and a fitting tribute Stevan. I have Michael Morgan's book, apparently he was a student of the great G. John Brockley!

Not familiar with Michael Morgan's work but I intend to look him up just as soon as I've written this coment. A very different and appealing style you have Stevan, I like it very much.

All of the comments are very much appreciated. When you are a lea sure painter you comments from family and friends but you never really know whether they are being honest so to get these comments from on line visitors is confidence building to say the least. Michael Morgan is a devotee of John Blockley, another great artist. Thanks for all your comments Steve

Lovely portfolio Stevan - especially this one, and good to find someone appreciating some of the many artists I admire. Living where you do (even if it is 'over the border') have you come across the work of Katharine Holmes?

The painting is based on methods described by one Michael Morgan who exhibits in Beer down in Devon. Michael under paints with Gesso. I took a scene from the Pendle district in Lancashire and modified it to reflect Michaels ideas. The medium is water colour.
