Nice one Fen! I’m really impressed with the different textures.

Thank you. Found much pleasure in doing this one.

Very good painting Fen.

Lovely variety of objects and textures. Beautifully painted Fen.

Super painting - lots to interest the eye, great composition and brushwork

Thanks all. Appreciated.

Great painting and composition.

Love the subject Fen, beautifully executed.

This is all so encouraging. Thank you.

Very nice, love it

I am struck with the colours as pasted on the wooden palette board and tubes of oil paint, the various forms and textures, so delightful to view!

Thanks. The colours are as per the ones used. I usually start with a yellow, red & blue (the three on the left). Then mix the darkest dark using the blue (FUM) & red (A.Crim). So the board I was painting actually materialized as I progressed. Not all the mixes made it to the painting & a couple of tubes are out of sight along with a couple of palette knives but the subject truly evolved and added to the enjoyment.

Love the subject and your treatment of it.

Last of four still life studies where I have used the same medium as the subject. This time Oils. Colours included Raw Umber ground. Yellow Ochre, French Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Titanium White, Dioxide Violet and Lemon Yellow. Linen on Board. Spent three days on this one leaving the board to dry overnight before I continued. Found that the freezing weather meant drying was slower but it didn't hamper me too much. Size: approx 30cm x 20cm.
