My dog Lucy by Diana Herzog

Lucy looks a real cutie Diana, she looks quite a character! I like the dark background and her eye is fabulous.

Wotcher, Lucy. Well, does SHE think you've overworked it? Or has a firm opinion not been expressed? This is not an uncommon dilemma, of course - sometimes, fiddling actually helps; sometimes it doesn't: and how's the poor artist meant to know which is going to be which? But I like it: you've got the texture of her coat just as curly and deep as it probably is, and the brightness of her eye is very well captured. Fixed, no doubt, on some noble purpose. Or a biscuit.

Well, Robert - as she is very confident of her beauty, she would probably consider that I should spend the rest of my life painting her portrait - when I am not actutally stroking her ;-)
