Love your explanation - love the light and reflection in this

Thanks for sharing your technique, Dermot. It works wonderfully well.

Great reflections captured the mood perfectly.

Love the dark and light, the addition of red and orange adds a cheery note, you always make it sound so simple 😁

You make it sound easy Dermot and you make it look easy brilliant

So. Eautiful Dermot. I especially love the distant arch.

I must have a go at following your explanation myself as I really like these paintings that you do. I love the idea of the colour pop on the umbrellas.

Beautiful washes and reflections.

Very effective works really well, Dermot

Lovely painting Brendan the technique suites the subject very well -when is the sun going to shine?

Wish it was that easy Dermot :) Love the pop of colour of the umbrellas.

Lovely work Dermot, great contrast between the blue and orange, like the distant, out of focus building also. Opposit weathetoday in Manchester, just had to come into the shade after an hour or so reading in the garden!

You are so good at these paintings Dermot, just marvellous!

Ever classy Dermot. Lovely work.

This certainly zings & yet so simple.

Altogether fabulous watercolour Dermot.

Fabulous Dermot, you make it sound so easy!

Gorgeous work Dermot, love this technique.

Love the reflections, the light through the archway, and the red umbrellas.

Excellent technique Dermot you make it sound easy but we both know that it can be tricky.

Beautifully painted, Dermot and thanks for the details on how you do it. Congratulations also in getting two paintings on the top line :)

This type of subject is basically just a few pencil lines followed by good tonally strong washes all flowing at the one time , the idea is to get the majority of it finished in one wash and add some highlights when dry , they’re a lot of fun to paint as there’s no time to fuss about
