After Oliver

After Oliver

A really successful painting Derek, colours and the design all gel so well. A great technique.

Love it. Freedom and excitement.

Thanks Alan and Shirley. Slight photography glitch, shine on the paper middle of tree trunk.

Nice painting Derek works very well indeed . The process sounds great

Thanks the dennis's. From you two I am honoured.

Really like this one Derek. All the black ink lines and then those drips running down to the two brighter buildings just works doesn't it. Such a good technique.

Like this, Derek. I use a spray when painting in watercolour to cause runs, like you’ve used here. It’s great to just watch the paint do it’s own thing.

Loads of immediacy in this piece, Derek. Nicely done.

Thanks Richard, Seok and Gudrun

Like this Derek especially the ink work.

Hang on Studio Wall

20x30cms on paper. Oliver's “Lovely” technique featured in the current Artist magazine inspired me to use the view across the road towards the allotments. Quite similar. Didn't use texture medium, because I forgot and tried the coffee for the first washes. Rigger and black Indian ink gives the greatest effect and spraying with clean water. Acrylic paint and card technique not wasted either.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
