Lovely Derek heartbreaking isn't it. Wish you could still do them

Lovely Derek. As I can see from your gallery. Such a shame life has to change but I am sure you will succeed with your Abstracts - I will keep a lookout for them.

Great one to look back on Derek and well executed but onwards and upwards. Actually in my case it'll probably be downwards!!

Nice one derek

A great watercolour Derek from you're earlier years but I do love your abstracts too!

Thanks dennis, Adele, Michael, Peter and Satu. I wish, but we move on. Actually in there on Sunday, it was rammed because SKY was showing the Saints match live.

you are a skilled draughtsman Derek lovely sketch David Harrison

Cheers David, my drawing wasn't bad but still learning watercolours, especially tones and shadows.

Derek, I came on to your gallery to thank you directly for the input and advice you have given me over the past few days while I've been posting my stuff, but what I found was a vast body of truly amazing work!! I love this one from 1990 but equally, the use of corrugated card is inspirational, and the morris dancers....etc, etc! As a total novice I don't feel qualified to comment and critique (I know nothing about art, but I know what I like...!!) but I take on board what you said to me about only having to paint a suggestion of cars, after seeing your very effective treatment of the motorbikes in the pub car park Thanks again, Derek, I am truly humbled!

Thanks Bob for those kind words too. This work was done not long after I started painting and it's taken a long time to get to where I was and now am in a reduced way. Things have changed for me over the recent few years and if I can provide assistance and help in any way I usually try although I have no formal education, like you I know what I like. Keep at it.

Great drawing skills Derek and to say you were new to watercolours your washes are very good too.

A super watercolour Derek. It looks a good place to go for a drink.

That's a little beauty Derek , if you find any more post them up I would love to see them

Cheers Fiona, Sarah and Dermot.

36 x 25cms on paper. Once again searching through old stuff and came across this from 1990. Our local pub at the time, was the Railway Inn, now the Monks Brook. I think I did a sketch on the spot, we lived 4 houses up the road then worked this in the studio (the dining room). Little has changed apart from the front door now the RH one, the other is blocked up.

Eleventyeight as my hashing pals called my new age recently, it's supposed to sound better. Trying to paint every day in acrylics using only expired credit/debit cards, and partially succeeding as they're only for me and not show these days.
